Friendship Peak Expedition

At over 17,353 feet Friendship Peak is an impressive sight to behold. it is perfect peak for beginner trekkers looking to challenge themselves, the fact is that it requires very few technical gears and knowledge. Though you will need bundles of grit and determination (as well a certain level of fitness)! Your reward? Breathtaking views of Himachal Pradesh’s Dhauladhar and Pir-Punjal Ranges. Other sights include the high altitude peaks of Mt. Hanuman Tibba, Mt. Deo Tibba, Mt. Shitidhar . During expedition, we will also pass through the Beas Kund(origin of the beas river), a magical glacial lake, in itself a popular trekking destination. Easily accessible for the uninitiated, Friendship Peak is the challenging peak with the awesome view.

Description

Day 1: Arrival at Base camp
First day you will be arrive at our base camp. There will be fresh up and than enjoying a delicious food. All the trekker will have to go through the registration process and we will go for a acclimatization walk. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 2: Manali to Bakar Thatch(10,600 Feet)
Travelling to Solang Valley by Car/Jeep, we will start our trek from here to Bakkar Thatch. Enroute we will pass Dhundi Village, the last village in Solang Valley, the place where the Beas River meets it’s first tributary between the Beas Kund and Rohtang Pass. After Dhundi our trek starts from the coniferous treeline to the high altitude pasture. Overnight stay at Bakar Thatch.

Day 3: Bakar Thach to Beas Kund(Return back to Bakrathatch)
This is the most important day of our expedition our success depends on how much we gain this day. Our first motto is go higher, sleep lower, for getting proper acclimatization and use to for that condition. We will do our training at our nearby Beas Kund glacier where our team will teach various techniques useful for the expedition and rest of your journey in mountains. Today we will learn:

  • Self-arrest technique
  • Using fix ropes
  • Fixing and De fixing of carabiners
  • Walking with crampons – -front pointing and flat footing(35 degrees to 55 degrees)
  • Basic knot practising
  • Ascending and descending techniques
  • Basic self-rescue techniques
  • Handling small accidents.

Overnight stay at Bakkar Thatch.

Day 4: Beas Kund to Advance Base Camp(15,300 Feet )
Wake up early, for today it’s time to move to advance base camp, famously known as Lady Leg (15,300 feet). The route is pristine and beautiful, however does include a few very steep passes, especially over the ridge which is also famous for its steep climb. Today will be filled with challenge and excitement. Overnight stay at advance basecamp

Day 5: Advance base camp to Friendship Peak(17,353 Feet)
Today we have to start early in the morning for our destination point. its a challenging day for us. We have a 11 o’clock’s time to reach our summit, destination point, after summiting , we have to move back to advance base camp for overnight stay.

Day 6: Back to Bakar Thatch
Our day begins at this ungodly sounding hour as so after a cup of hot chai and breakfast, we have to move back to bakra thatch camp for overnight stay.

Day 7: Bakar Thach to Solang valley and via cab Manali (Base camp)
Next morning, we have to move back to Solang valley from where we will return to Manali via cab Group meeting and closing ceremony, bonefire and dj night. Overnight stay at base camp.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, we have to move market via cab or public transport, for shopping and all. Then departure at evening.
