Pin Parvati Pass Trek

The Pin Parvati trek connect’s both the Pin and Parvati valleys. You will need a good level of fitness to complete this challenging trek, which begins from Manikaran (Bhunter) and takes hikers all the way to Spiti valley. Following the Parvati River for three days, arriving at Khir Ganga’s hot water springs, passing through dense forest, risky river crossings. One of the beautiful points along this trek includes Mantalai, an enormous and impressive glacial lake, as well as the remarkable wildlife you might be lucky enough to spot along the way: Spiti wolf, ibex and snow leopards. This trek is one of the challenging trek in comparison to other treks and not for the beginner or novice.

Day 1: Arrival at Manikaran (6070 Feet)
Manikaran is a small town in Parvati valley. It is just 45 KM from Bhuntar, a holy place and famous for its natural hot spring. After reaching Manikaran, check in to your guest house/campsite. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure: resting, exploring Manikaran Market, the town or it’s famous Gurudwara. Overnight stay at Manikaran.
Day 2: Manikaran to Khir Ganga (10,000 Feet.)
Travelling to Barsheni village by road, from where we will begin our trek to Khir Ganga (10,000feet) is a beautiful place with the short steep climb and famous for it’s lush green beauty and natural hot spring and a small temple of Lord Shiva. It is also the last chance to take a hot water bath on the trek, Overnight stay at camp.
Day 3: Khir Ganga to Tundah Bhuj (10,513 Feet)
On this morning, after breakfast we will continue our ascent to our next destination. As the valley widens, the trail crosses several beautiful pastures with an array of flora and fauna, as well as several nomadic settlements. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 4: Tundah Bhuj to Pandu Bridge (11,130 Feet)
Today we start our trek from Tundah Bhuj to Pandu Bridge, steep ascend at some portion and both mentally and physically exerting. Travers dense forest and rocky terrain. Once arrived at Pandu Bridge, we will set up camp for the overnight stay.
Day 5: Pandu Bridge to Chota Mantalai (12,700 Feet)
In the next day after breakfast we move our trail through flowery meadows until after that trail makes some ups and downs and then goes through flowered meadows Chota Mantlai, a perfect spot to camp for the overnight stay.
Day 6: Chota Mantlai to Mantalai Lake (13,710 Feet)
Today’s route is a gradual ascent, continuing to undulate through picturesque mountain meadows, eventually leading us to high-altitude Mantalai Lake, it’s a very scenic and beautiful place, overnight stay at camp, Mantalai Lake.
Day 7: Mantalai Lake to High Camp(Near Parvati Pass)(14,690 Feet)
Today is a steep climb of over 1000 feet, but the day’s challenges will be rewarded with the arrival at the beautiful camp site at the base of the Paravati Pass for Overnight stay.
Day 8: High Camp to Pin Parvati Pass(17,300 Feet) and onto Pin Valley(15400 Feet)
Today is a Summit day and we will be scaling a height of 17,300 feet, The approach to the Pass is over a crevasses, glaciers too and carefull precaution is necessary on this section. After the pass we’ll descend over a steep slope to reach the first campsite in the Pin Valley for overnight stay.
Day 9: Pin Valley to Mud village(11,800Feet)
Gradual descent towards the Pin Valley to the village Mud. Its an amazing feeling to reaching on another valley(Spiti). Overnight stay at Mud village.
Day 10: Mud village to Manali(6000 Mtr)
On the next day, we have to walk from mud village to Kaza, from here we’ll travel via cab to Manali, crossing the impressive “Kunzum La” and have your first hot shower in what feel like a long time and bonfire, DJ nights too. Overnight stay at base camp Manali.
Day 11: Shopping in Manali and Departure
Check out time(10 o’clock), after breakfast, there is a marketing time for shopping and all and departure at evening.
