Yunam Peak Expedition

Yunam peak(20,042ft.) is located near Baralacha pass on border of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The Yunam peak expedition base-camp is just few kilometers from Baralacha Pass on Manali Leh highway. Without need of technical skill except the physical fitness and mentally determination. It also offers majestic views of the peaks of Chandra Bhaga and Mulkilla range. It’s an amazing peak with magnificent view.

Description

Day 1:- Arrival at Base-camp Manali{1950 Mtr.}
Breakfast, fresh-n-up. After lunch we will move for a short acclimatization walk. After snacks we have a session about expedition or ice breaker. Dinner and per-pration for next days journey.
Day 2:- Manali to Jispa{3570 Mtr.}
Wake up at 5.00AM. Warm up session 6.00 to 7.00AM. After breakfast, We have to move our next camp Jispa {130KM} for over night stay, via cab. {6 Hours Max.}
Day 3:- Jispa to Bharatpur Camp{4500 Mtr.}
After breakfast we have to move for next camp 70km from Jispa, 3 Hours to Bhartpur. After Jispa drive up hill to Baralachla Pass(4800 Mtrs). Here you can see origin of Chandra and Bhaga rivers and we will plan for two short and beautiful stops Deepaktaal and Surajtaal. On arrival at Bharatpur Set out camp, free till evening tea. After evening tea, acclimatization walk and back to camp.
Day 4:- Bharatpur to Camp-1(5300 Mtr)
After breakfast we will move to Camp-one. Reached camp-one and set out camp. After snacks we will go for an acclimatization walk. Back to camp for dinner and get prepared for next morning’s session.
Day 5:- Camp-1 (5300 Mtr)
Today we will do some exercises, ascending and descending on snow with self-arrest, fix rope climbing etc. Come back to camp for lunch. Early dinner and get prepared {Mentally as well as physically} for next morning’s summit.
Day 6:- Summit day (6110 Mtr) and Back to Camp-1
It’s an amazing day for us all. Today after early breakfast at around 2:00AM, we will start to climb the peak. After prayers and picture on top of the peak, we will descend to camp-one for over night stay.
Day 7:- After early breakfast we will descend to the Bharatpur base-camp.
It’s a 3 Hours, descend max. After lunch we will move back to Manali. And reached at the base-camp Manali in evening for over night stay. After dinner we have a short discussion about entire expedition and DJ Nights.
Day 8:- Departure time, After breakfast.

  • Basic First aid Kit with portal oxygen cylinder and oxymeter.
  • Forest Permits/ wild life fee and camping charges.

  • Personal insurance or cost of emergency evacuation.
